Learn About Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Bar and Hex Rod

You may have heard of Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Bar or Flat Bar. If so, you are in luck! In this article, you can also find information on 17-4 PH Hex Rod. These are very common steel products that are used in a wide range of applications. Here are just a few of the uses for these steel products. Whether you’re building a new bridge or making a structural component for an airplane, you can count on them.

Here are Some Points of Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Bar and Hex Rod

1.  Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Bar

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Bar is a martensitic precipitation hardening alloy with good strength and unsurpassed

d corrosion resistance. Its low-temperature heat treatment minimizes warping and scaling, making it a versatile material for a variety of applications. Its high strength and low-alloy content make it an excellent choice for a wide range of design challenges. ED stocks round bar in different sizes for fast turnarounds and offers hex and square shapes upon request.

2. Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Flat Bar

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH is a martensitic, precipitation-hardening stainless steel that combines high strength, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Its low-temperature heat treatment process minimizes the possibility of scaling and warping. Typical applications of this material include general metalworking, aerospace and chemical industries. It is also used in food processing and other applications. For these reasons, it is the preferred material for flat bar applications.

3. Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Hexagonal Bar

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH is a martensitic chromium-nickel precipitation-hardening stainless steel that exhibits excellent toughness and strength properties. This grade is useful for many applications, including pumps, shafts, heat exchangers, and gas turbines. The alloy is available in a variety of different sizes, including hexagonal bars. Depending on the application, these steel bars can have any number of different properties, including high strength and corrosion resistance.

4. Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Hex Rod

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Hex Bolts and Nuts have good ductility and excellent corrosion resistance. In the solution treated state, this steel has low corrosion resistance. If you are assembling the rods, anneal them first. This process assures the structure of the welded part even after joining them. Nitriding this steel can reduce corrosion resistance and make it tougher by hardening its top layer. Stainless steel 17-4 PH Rod is available in round and flat bars, as well as cold rolled strips. It is often used in aerospace and energy applications.

5. Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Ingot

Solidification of Stainless Steel 17-4 PH ingot was studied using FEM based software. The steel was solidified in two different moulds (H/D) of 1.51 and 0.73. In both cases, a thick hot top was predicted. However, ingots with higher H/D ratios solidified faster. The reason for the difference in solidification rates is that high-H/D ingots contained a higher percentage of liquid metal and were therefore more resistant to the impact of heat.

6. Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Rod

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Round Rod offers a combination of high tensile strength, good mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance. The material is supplied in Condition A or solution annealed condition. It is not recommended for use in applications where the temperature exceeds 572degF or in cryogenic environments. In addition, this grade has outstanding welding and heat-treatment capabilities. Its corrosion resistance is exemplary, and it is a versatile material.
